Dark berry on the nose. A slight honey finish when this first opens, delicate oak, easy drinking. Some nice acid and a nice full mouth feel.
THE HISTORY
The Mio family established itself on the Right Bank in the mid-1970s.
Mario, Cédric's grandfather, worked for 25 years at one of the most
prestigious estates in Pomerol. In 1975, he decided to produce his own
wine and purchased an old house with a small plot of land to start a
vineyard. The director of the Pomerol estate kindly lent Mario the
necessary equipment, helping him launch his winemaking venture.
Now, the Mio family owns four appellations in their portfolio: 21.5
hectares of Bordeaux Supérieur, 5.5 hectares of Lussac-Saint-Émilion, 1
hectare of Montagne-Saint-Émilion, and 0.2 hectares of Pomerol.
Cédric, the third generation, now runs the family estate.
